New York Sunshine is a cross-fashion collective based in The Hamptons, NYC. Their practice is about elevating ‘work of hand’ by a constant documentation of the process behind their artworks.
Their visuals let the audience participate to the creation, and have strong impact on instagram.
The “making while destroying”can be delivered in the form of videography, photography or physical art/architectural installation
The launch of the new Stardan sneaker was conceived as a series of visual installations performed by the collective New York Sunshine in the occasion of 16th Biennale Architettura di Venezia
Performances were filmed with mixed techniques. Footage was divided into 8 acts composing the “Labor of Love” series
The main installation inside Chiesa della Misericordia was opened to public during the Biennale openings. The other installation took place in different locations during the same days
The star-hoops and the “masegni” (pavement) shoe-boxes were then recreated for retail/window display
at the New York Soho, Paris Rive-Gauche, London Notting Hill and Milano GGDB/Flag stores
The backstage of “Rifiuto d’Amore” (Love Refusal), one of the last Acts from the “Labor of Love” series, was shot by Guglielmo Profeti and was released along the Stardan shoe-launch
